A major easing of COVID restrictions in NSW has come into effect today, with the announcement that people will be allowed to have up to 50 guests on the dance floor at weddings and other events. The move comes as NSW recorded its 25th consecutive day without a local transmission of COVID-19. Premier Gladys Berejiklian said despite upper limits on guest numbers being removed at weddings and other events, people would still be expected to adhere to social distancing, good hygiene, and testing.

“It’s really important for people not to let their guard down,” Ms Berejiklian told reporters in Sydney this morning during her first media conference since becoming Premier last week. “We’ve had a significant reduction in community transmission, but we’re not out of the woods yet.”

The community restrictions are now in place to stop people from coming into contact with someone who has contracted COVID-19. “We know that community transmission is still happening and can happen at any time,” Ms Berejiklian said.

Brides and Grooms in NSW will now be able to celebrate their weddings with up to 50 guests on the dance floor, following a major easing of COVID restrictions by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian. This will see the return of live music and entertainment to weddings, with the removal of lower limits on guest numbers. Premier Berejiklian said despite this easing there was still a requirement to adhere to social distancing, good hygiene and testing.

We are so delighted that NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced a “major easing” of coronavirus restrictions which will allow Brides and Grooms in NSW up to 50 guests on the dance floor during their big day following COVID transmission reductions recorded since March last year. The announcement follows 25 consecutive days without any new cases of COVID-19 reported from NSW residents or visitors.

Major points of the easing of the NSW Covid Restrictions for Weddings includes;

  • No limit to the number of people allowed at Weddings or funerals.
  • Weddings can also have 50 people on the Dance Floor, and they do not need to be the same 50 people.. just 50 at any one time.
  • The four-square-metre rule will become the two-square-metre rule, excluding gyms and nightclubs.
  • Outside private gatherings can have 100 people.
  • Patrons can also stand up while drinking outdoors at pubs.

The easing of restrictions will come into place on the 7th Dec, 2020. Ms Berejiklian said despite upper limits on guest numbers being removed at weddings and other events, people would still be expected to adhere to social distancing, good hygiene, and testing. We still encourage everyone to follow the safety guidelines set by NSW Health and stay away from other people as much as possible if you or someone else has been sick with a fever for more than two days in a row to avoid the virus spreading.

COVID is a rare but potentially deadly coronavirus that can be easily spread through coughing or contact with someone who has been sick for two days in a row with fever, cough and/or sore throat. At Event Entertainers we cannot stress enough how important it is to follow these guidelines set by NSW Health so you do not contract this potentially fatal disease!

Event Entertainers and our artists are thrilled that the NSW Covid Restrictions have been eased for Weddings to allow 50 Guests on the Dance Floor. It is currently unknown how long these new rules will last but we are counting down each day until the restrictions have completely lifted!
