One observation I generally have with all cover-album bands in general, is that you can always tell that it’s not the original song that’s playing…. BUT NOT WITH TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD!!!! There were so many times throughout the evening where I thought “this must be the DJ playing now”- but then I’d look across and it was Tequila Mockingbird!! It was just incredible. We have seriously received an overwhelming number of compliments about the band. The voices on the two vocalists were just spectacular! “

From Small Town, USA to the big stages in Tokyo, Andrew’s powerful and passionate voice has been heard by audiences around the globe for over 10 years. With a background in musical theatre, and a family lineage of pop and rock power ballad singers, his versatility shines through in his ability to effortlessly entertain in a variety of music genres.
After moving from the US to Sydney in 2020 to be with his soon-to-be wife, Andrew debuted his voice in Sydney as Jamie Wellerstein in an intimate production of the musical The Last 5 Years. His career has been highlighted with performances at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, and in front of thousands at La Malagueta, a bullring in Málaga, Spain. Now, Andrew is making a big splash in Sydney’s live music scene as the lead male vocalist of Tequila Mockingbird.
Inês Vaz de Sousa
Inês had been performing as a musician in Sydney for the past 15 years. She is in high demand not only for her incredible vocal ability but her impressive stage persona. Having recently come off Australian & NZ tours as an esteemed backing vocalist for Matt Corby & The Thundamentals with highlights including singing “Chains” along side Tina Arena to 50,000 people at Splendour in The Grass, Inês has truly honed her craft to become a versatile and accomplished singer.
She also works as a seasoned front woman for many of Sydney’s largest Wedding and Corporate Events Companies with vocal stylings from sultry jazz to the biggest 80’s pop ballads and the most energetic dance tracks, Inês does it all with style and professionalism and we are thrilled to showcase her as our leading lady for Tequila Mockingbird.
