Weddings at Poolside Cafe (and why we love them)

Poolside is definitely one of Sydney’s best kept venue secrets.

We can’t keep this to ourselves. Let’s talk about Weddings at Poolside and why we love them so much. You might know this place as being a great spot for a swim, or for some brunch with friends. (We do love the majestic views of Sydney Harbour!).  Poolside Cafe is definitely one of Sydney’s best kept venue secrets. It’s tucked between the Botanic Gardens and Wooloomoolloo Bay. Frankly, it’s a great spot for a waterside party, right in the middle of the Sydney CBD.

Poolside makes for the perfect spot for a modern wedding, special occasion, or corporate event. Poolside Cafe features the best of indoor and outdoor entertaining. You have the option of a chic Terrace overlooking Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool. Or a relaxed dining room with floor-to-ceiling window views of Sydney Harbour.  Poolside is perfect for a small sit-down event for 55 guests, or a Canapes-style party for up to 100 guests.

What we love about Poolside is it’s a particularly great location for an All-Day Wedding.

For your Ceremony you can start your formalities on the Deck, then conveniently head into Canapés for the rest of the evening.
Alternatively, you can have your Ceremony at any one of the many gorgeous locations across the road at the Botanic Gardens. Then, it’s time to celebrate back at Poolside with a sophisticated sit down dinner, or an evening of grazing. Speaking of which..

What’s on the menu at Poolside Cafe?

The menu features a delicious feast of modern italian delights, with a beautiful selection of canapes options too. They can also famously provide chef stations on the outdoor terrace, for the grazing pleasure of your guests. Be sure to also ask about their delicious cocktail menu to kick-off the festivities, too!

What’s access like to the Poolside Cafe?

Access is easy, being centrally located in Sydney CBD. Metered street parking is available at the venue and parking stations are located at The Domain, and St Mary’s Cathedral. Guests can also choose to arrive by Water Taxi or private charter, to the Poolside wharf. One of our favorite things about this venue is you can also make a James Bond-esque getaway, via boat!

Our Clients Adam and Louise celebrated to the sounds of Duke Music during their Canapés style Reception.

What entertainment is best at Poolside Cafe?

We’ve had a variety of artists perform here, including; The Luke Zanc Trio, Taylor, Kahuna Duo, Duke Music, and MIXADJ.  There’s some really wonderful entertainment options well suited to Poolside Cafe, including; a Solo, Duo, or Trio act, or perhaps a DJ with a Vocalist, Sax Player and Percussionist. (We highly recommend Chris Gable Trio, and you can see them performing at Poolside Cafe here!)

It’s the perfect space for an intimate celebration, with ambience that makes you feel like you’ve escaped to a dreamy tropical location.
